Jumping off cliffs. Nothing like it. The thrill of your feet leaving the ground and plummeting into the water like a bullet while your heart drops to the base of your stomach…
Adrenaline seekers can rejoice when in Dubrovnik. Whether you’re new to cliff jumping or just starting out, the coast of this incredible city is full of spots for you to be the idiot you know you are.
I’m going to walk you through three of my favorite cliff jumping spots in Dubrovnik, each easily walkable from the old town and able to all be jumped in a single day.
Though you may be a bit sore by the end of it.
Why These Three Cliff Jumping Spots in Dubrovnik
The typography of Dubrovnik is absolutely perfect for cliff jumping.
Basically anywhere you look on the coast, you’ll see cliffs descending into the sea. This means that the area is full of possible spots.
While there are many more incredible cliff jumping spots in Dubrovnik, I’ve picked the following three because they’re all easily walkable from the city center.
In a couple hours (or even less), you can make it to all three (and back) by foot.
The first spot is Bellevue Beach, which is the furthest away from the old town. If you’re staying in the old town, it’ll take around 30 minutes to walk there.
The next spot is on the walk back, and the final spot is in the old town itself. This is all easily doable as a day activity, even if you don’t get started until late in the afternoon.

Note: If one day isn’t enough, Lokrum Island has great cliff jumping too. The kayak tour above stops at Betina Cave, a beautiful and awesome jumping spot!
The Rating System
For each beach, I’ll give the heights for the tallest jump at each spot (there are also beginner jumps at each location). Or my estimated heights, at least. I didn’t bring my tape measure with me to Dubrovnik.
I’ll also give a 1-5 score in terms of overall danger, which is also a ranking for the tallest jump. The danger often comes from the ascent to the jump rather than the jump itself, as you’ll see with our first spot.
Unless you don’t know how to jump, of course. In which case watch this video.
Nothing will happen to you if you’re careful and keep your head. But if you’re easily anxious, I recommend sticking to the jumps with a sub-five danger score (meaning skip the first spot).
Keep in mind that if you don’t want to do the big jumps, there are smaller ones at each of these spots.
Note: The following spots are listed in the order you should do them. You’ll start at the furthest spot, and end the day by cliff jumping just outside the old city of Dubrovnik at sunset.
Bellevue Beach
Height- 18m
Danger- 4/5
Bellevue Beach is about a half-hour walk from the old city. It’s a beautiful spot that would be a blast even if you weren’t going to jump off the cliffs.
But you are, of course.
There are nearly always a group of locals jumping here. Which is good because if you watch them and they survive, odds are you will too. Maybe not 100%, but close.
But in all seriousness, follow the locals and ask for their advice on where to jump from.
There are spots on both sides of the beach, but I’d stick to the left-hand side of the bay. Here, you have your 5m jumps, a 10m jump, and an option to walk up for a jump that’s gotta be close to 20m.
The reason the danger score is a four is because of the ascent to this last jump. But it’s very doable if you’re focused. Just be careful, and ideally don’t do it before you see a local do it first so you know where to climb.
Boninovo Beach
Height- 10-12m
Danger- 2/5
You’ll find this spot on your walk back towards the old city, maybe about ten minutes from Bellevue Beach.
You’ll know you found the right place if you see a steep staircase on your right from the road descending down towards the water. The exact spot is pinned on the Offpath map below (more on that in a bit).
After going down the stairs, you’ll find what’s not so much of a beach as it is a collection of rocks and concrete platforms.
This spot doesn’t have the highest jumps. The main jump is probably around 9-10m, and you can get a little higher by climbing some extra rocks.
But the beauty of this spot is twofold. First, it’s often very quiet. You may even have the place to yourself.
Second, there’s a long platform for the main jump that allows you to run into it.
It greatly hurts my ego to say that I almost always wimp out on tricks. But the combination of the run up and lower height makes Boninovo an excellent place to practice.
The only danger here is making sure you get momentum to avoid the rocks underneath. But it would really be hard to hit them unless you were actively trying to.
Please don’t.
Note: Boninovo is pinned on Offpath – my interactive map of hidden gems from every destination I’ve visited around the world. Browse the map for more off-the-beaten-path spots!
Buža Beach Bar
Height- 20m
Danger- 2/5

There’s no better place to end a long cliff jumping day in Dubrovnik.
First, grab something to eat. You probably have time, because I’d recommend coming to this last spot around sunset.
You access it by walking along the outer wall of the city. Eventually, you’ll reach a hole in the wall to walk out onto the cliffs. Must have been a security issue back in the old days, but I guess they just had to get their cliff jumping in in ancient Dubrovnik.
There are going to be a lot of people here. It’s an awesome social atmosphere.
Not that you care, of course. Speak to no one, you have business to attend to.
There are two jumps here. The lower one is probably around 10m off a large rock that you have to climb up.
The higher jump must be 20m. You’ll see some people jumping from it. It’s certainly a high one. But if you go for it, your status instantly elevates. When you get back onto the rocks, everyone will be chanting your name.
Maybe not, seeing as they would need to know your name first. But at least you’ll have some great pictures to take home, if you’ve got a good friend.
Buža is also pinned on Offpath – check it out below.
So ends the perfect cliff jumping day in Dubrovnik. Don’t let it stop here- from now on, always be on the lookout for some nice cliffs to conquer!
