Thailand
Thailand was the first stop on my solo backpacking trip through Asia. I showed up with no real plan, after being told the country was a must.
Turns out, the hype is justified. Thailand has everything: stunning islands, mountain roads built for motorbikes, incredible, cheap food, and a great backpacking culture.
The flip side is that it can get busy. That’s why I’m here to help you find the good stuff while avoiding the British hordes.
You’ll notice I don’t cover Bangkok much. That’s intentional. Spend a night or two if you need to, then get out.
My Thailand content centers on two areas: the islands (mainly Koh Tao and Koh Phangan), and the mountains of Northern Thailand, with an emphasis on the Mae Hong Son Motorbike Loop.
