South Korea wasn’t really on my radar. I was in China, saw a $30 flight to Jeju, and said screw it.

Jeju turned out to be a great decision. Hallasan- the volcano at the center of the island- is one of the coolest hikes I’ve done anywhere. Then I really got to know the place after losing my wallet on the way to the airport. Forced an extra couple days on the island. Worst thing that happened to me. Best thing that happened to my Jeju content.

From Jeju I headed to Busan and Seoul. Seoul is great, and you’ll find no shortage of information about it elsewhere. So here, I focus on Busan- the city everyone ignores. It’s got hiking, amazing viewpoints, and incredible markets. Don’t skip it.
